Aaaahhh!

I had approved the proof just a couple days ago. The self-publishing company I used indicated that it would take two to four days for the book to show up for sale on Amazon, and at least a couple weeks to show up on other sites like iBookstore and Barnes & Noble. I figured it usually ends up being the longer end when a company provides a time range, so maybe by this weekend, the book would appear on Amazon.

But this afternoon, something nudged me to try searching for it on Amazon. I thought what the heck. So I searched for “dance diaries” and IT WAS THERE! Second on the list, right below Dork Diaries 6 (go figure). It was really difficult not to squeal in the middle of my office. Instead I walked/skipped over to a friend’s desk and, with a poorly hidden grin, told her to do the same search. Again, I did my best not to squeal when it came up again on her computer. Needless to say, it was quite difficult to concentrate for the rest of the afternoon.

It feels a little surreal and a lot exciting to be able to share this book with the world! I want to write more about what I’m feeling, but I think I need to give myself a couple days to let it all sink in. Then I can do a real analysis.
