Hi dancers!
So I spent the last week fighting the flu or something equally wretched. I’m finally feeling better today, so I decided to make a video for everyone. I also have an announcement (well, two really) about the Solo Practice Guide!

I’ll confess, I always feel a small palpitation in my chest when I see heat lists have been posted. It’s like a sign that this is really happening! It’s the anticipation of entering the ballroom in all its splendor and walking out on the floor covered in rhinestones and hair spray, waiting to hear “And music, please.”
Hi dancers!
If you saw my last post, you know I was honored to be interviewed on the talk show, Out of the Comfort Zone, on ThinkTech Hawaii. It aired live on June 5, 2018 at 4pm PST, and the replay has just come available. Enjoy!
I have to say I’m not looking forward to the day coming soon when my tax refund will run out. I’ve done three competitions in as many months and it has been AMAZING. I don’t want it to end.
For those waiting patiently to hear the story behind the new dress I sported for American Smooth at Beach Bash, here it is! For everyone else who doesn’t know what I’m talking about, keep reading anyways. It’s a good story.
Even though I prefer to celebrate 50% Off Chocolate Day (February 15), when FloDance asked me to write another article for their website, in honor of Valentine’s Day, I decided to compose a love letter to ballroom.
Read it here, and happy Valentine’s Day!

More than once in the past week, the issue of labels has come up. Labels like “student” and “teacher”, or “amateur” and “professional.” Seeing as I’m making new efforts in 2018 to own who I am, I thought I’d prattle on about this for a bit.
A new year brings a new ballroom competition season with it. “Season” is a bit of a misnomer because there is always a competition happening somewhere, but in my corner of the ballroom world, people seem to take some time off after the Holiday Dance Classic at the beginning of December and then come back with new goals in January.
2018 is coming up fast, and like every other blogger on the world wide web, I’m reflecting on the past year and sharing my thoughts with you. Hope you don’t mind!
Howdy dancers! I hope the week is treating you well. My week certainly is. I took the day off today after getting home yesterday from a weekend workshop in Scottsdale, Arizona. No, it wasn’t a dance workshop (I know, what else could it be??).
