Weekend Notes: Coast-to-Coast Connection and a New Book

Just a couple quick updates before I go to bed.  This weekend was busy!

First, I met one of my readers on Saturday! I had never met her before; we had only emailed. Then she emailed me last week to tell me she was flying in from the East Coast to visit her son and to see if I lived close by to where she was going. It was close enough, so Roomie and I met her and her son for brunch! If you follow me on social media, then you probably saw the picture of us enjoying GIGANTIC pancakes. They were delicious, by the way.

Making a connection like that was incredible. This is why I write and share my ballroom stories! Sharing such a personal journey can be hard, partly because I’m putting myself out there and partly because there’s a good chance no one will care or notice. So when she shared with me how much she enjoyed reading my blog and how she could relate to so many of the things I wrote about, it really touched my heart. I am always so grateful to hear that someone does relate and does enjoy reading what I have to write! And getting to meet one of those someones in person just made my week!

Then on Sunday, I spent the ENTIRE day editing my next book! I set a goal at the beginning of the year to have it ready to publish by the end of March, and I’m on track to meet that goal! It’s an eBook about learning ballroom dance, told through my experiences when I was first getting started. Stay tuned! I plan on submitting it for publishing by Wednesday (aaah!) and I’ll share details about the launch as I get them.

Happy Easter to those that celebrated, and have a fabulous week!
